My Story
My story doesn't start with nails. It starts with a redundancy notice.
After years working in IT in London, I found myself made redundant... not once, but twice.
The long commutes, the uncertainty, the feeling that my career was always at someone else's mercy, I was done with it.
I'd always done my own nails, so I decided to turn that into something. I trained, I qualified, and I opened my own nail bar. Nobody could make me redundant from that.
Then in 2007, my son arrived and everything changed again. I closed my nail bar and set up in my conservatory. Honestly...it was perfect.
Nails are one of those rare skills that fit around real life.
Over the years I kept pushing myself. I studied for my PTLLS Level 4 teaching qualification, and when I finished, my tutor wrote to tell me he felt I was underutilising my abilities. That letter stuck with me.
Why I'm Here Now
More recently, I ran a PMU clinic where I continued to see the occasional nail client, until nerve compression in my neck forced me to step back from doing nails on others. It was a blow, but it also gave me clarity.
I have two decades of tips, tricks, techniques and hard-won knowledge, and I want to pass every bit of it on.
Not to train the next generation of professionals (though I can help with that too - find out more about my mentoring). But to help you... someone who loves their nails, wants them to look amazing, and is tired of paying for disappointing results.
